Hollywood Model Photography is a studio that specializes in headshot photography for actors, models and talent in the entertainment industry.

Located in Sherman Oaks, California.

The best experience I have had with a headshot photographer. I used to live in New York always hated having to do this. These people have their system down. Fast, good price, efficient.‎

These Headshots are fanastic! I hate paying $1000 to show up and see some “name” photographer using a $300 point and shoot camera.  I literally got twice the amount of work at ¼ the cost, and the quality isn’t even worth comparing. 

 

David Habif is a real artist and he values his Headshot trade as artwork.  That’s why I use him.  He cares about the end result just as much as I do!

 

This was the first time I have gotten my Headshots taken so I was really nervous.  Within five minutes of being with David I was as comfortable as I would be in my own living room.  Thanks David, you rock!!

 

The quality of my Headshots are so good I can finally print a 12 by 18 to send home to my mother.  She loves it!!

 

It’s really depressing for me to spend a week's pay on a headshot session to find out that I have to go to the photographer's printer in order to get my shots (so he can get even more money from me before I get a chance to see my headshots).  When I got my headshots with David he gave me a CD of over 400 images which we had selected. That was about half of the total pictures we had taken that day.  Then he built me a web gallery and emailed me a contact sheet so I could select the 10 pics that he would touch up for me.  It was all included in the price of an entire day's shoot, which would have been equal to a 2 hour session with another photographer.  David is the best headshot photographer in the city. 

 

When I first got to Los Angeles David was a friend that I knew as a photographer and I needed Headshots so I figured why not use him.  Come to find out, every agent I go to shop my work around says it's some of the best stuff they’ve seen. They are even more impressed when I tell them how much I paid.

 

Whenever I get my Headshots done I always go to Dave.  There’s no reason to fix something that isn’t broken. His system of doing headshots is the best I’ve heard of. 

 

The touchup process is what impressed me the most.  So many Headshot photographers want you out of there with your money in their hands as fast as possible.  I sat down with Dave for an hour after the shoot to review my work.  My advice would be to take the full day session because for the price at another headshot photographer I would have gotten two touchups if I’m lucky.  Dave is better than most touchup artists that specialize in the craft. He dwarf's the skill of any other headshot photographer that I've seen. 

 

I’ve finally found a headshot photographer that is willing to work with me to get the image across which I want to sell.  I actually had fun!

 

It is usually a cumbersome task to get my Headshots done.  It’s almost like going to the dentist.  I pay a visit every 6 months, nervous going in, and discontent with the results on my way out.  I’m so glad I used David this time around.  I have such a huge variety of headshots to choose from.   There is no reason to use anyone else. 

 

I can't tell you how much fun it was to shoot my new headshots with Dave. He is the best photographer I have found so far in Los Angeles. There is a certain familiarity he establishes that really made me feel comfortable and open that reads in the head shots and the response I have been getting is immense.

 

I don’t see any need to get my headshots anywhere else ever again.

Frequently Asked Questions

 

Question 1:

Do you offer different headshot pricing for children and for senior portraits?

Answer 1:

All prices listed in the rates and info section, are standard for all shoots. The amount of time that is listed, is the amount of time that the shoot will offer. Editing is included in the price but is not reflected in the amount of time for the shoot. Although I cannot be lenient on my policy for time and rates I can improvise a shoot with more than one person or more than the amount of looks listed. The reason for listing looks is to give you a fair idea of what could be accomplished in that amount of time.

 

Question 2:

I have compared these prices to other photographers offering the same services for both headshots and modeling. The cost is much less and when something seems too good to be true it usually is. What's the catch?

Answer 2:

Glad you asked.  It is will be tough to answer this one without sounding like a used car salesmen but I'll do my best. Most of the clients I work with regularly are in the acting business or aspire to be. It is a difficult business to get into and the introductory stages are quite cumbersome. Usually one needs to devote a great deal of time and effort for which the financial reward is  minimal. For this reason I have tried to figure a method in which I can earn a living and offer the best prices and services for all income brackets. So there is in fact a catch.

The catch is:

Most photographers that offer comparable services and prices to mine, but appear to be more expensive, include makeup services in every package. All the prices listed on my site do not include makeup services. I work with a number of different makeup artists whose price's very from 70% to 80% addition to the packages that are included. For model portfolios a makeup artist is a must. With actors, the importance of the headshot is to give an honest representation of one's appearance. Therefore makeup can help in a shoot but is not a requirement. This is why the prices that are listed here appear lower than the standard. I feel that it is a good deal because many photographers will not work without a makeup artist.

 

Question 3:

 I have a makeup artist that I usually work with. Can I bring them with me instead of using one of yours?

Answer 3:

I have never had a problem working with any freelance makeup artist. However there is a first time for everything. If you have someone that you're comfortable with I see no problem in working with them. However once you start using outside artists the production becomes your responsibility. I offer no re-shoots under these circumstances.

 

Question 4:

So you do offer re-shoots?

Answer 4:

If you go through the entire shoot and stay for the selection and editing process, which I encourage you to do, and are unhappy with the product that we have produced you can make a decision that day to schedule a re-shoot for no fee (makeup is not included in this instance). Once you leave the studio that deal no longer stands. I make a strong effort to be generous and fair but not stupid.
