Bio
David Habif has been a professional photographer for the past ten years. He has a great deal of experience both as a photographer and a photo editor. David is focused on delivering the best images possible while creating the unique image desired by the talent.
David offers a unique work flow when it comes to his portrait sessions. He has one to two clients daily never exceding two. The time that is allotted during the session (which can be found in detail on the Rates/Info page) is reserved for shoot time only. This exludes the time that it takes for the make up artist to change looks. After the session is complete, an equal amount of time is reserved for editing. The client is welcome and encouraged to stay and watch this process from selection to the touchup. Once complete, clients often walk out of the studio with all of the completed images including a copy of the full session in both raw and jpeg format at no extra cost if desired.

Portrait studio in Sherman Oaks CA
Equipment
The studio primarily uses continuous lighting. This technique offers more control and imitaites the method of film and tv.
Post workflow primarily involves three applications all of which are designed by Adobe. Lightroom, Photoshop and The Bridge. These are the ulitimate in efficiency and quality for the modern digital photographer.
David shoots digital images . The primary cameras are the Canon 5D and the Canon 1Ds Mark II. These cameras produce large exceptionally clean digital files. They are highly versatile and respond quickly to capture every expression instantly. We no longer use medium format cameras. These cameras performed well with film but now, with digital backs, they produce unnecessarily large files and are slow to respond, cumbersome and stifle creativity. All lenses are Canon L series. |
